For today's stop for the Night Sky by Jolene B. Perry, I have a blog post from Jolene!
Some of my all-time favorite YA reads EVER.
- Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins, and even if I didn't love this book for the whole thing (which I do) it would be on my list for the FIRST KISS. Whew. Made of awesome.
- Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson - this is an intense read, but the language was SO beautiful. When I finished that book, I never wanted to write again.
- The Fault in Our Stars by John Green - who else could jump into the teen cancer culture and make me laugh and cry all at the same time? I get chills thinking about that book.
- Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally - and I heard it just sold movie rights!! It was a great romantic read, and I seriously didn't see how it could end well. But it did :-D
- Grounding Quinn by Stephanie Campbell - yes, she's a friend of mine, BUT we didn't become friends until I read this totally awesome book. We're doing a collaboration together, and I'm thrilled to work with her.
- The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson - I'm actually planning a re-read of this book shortly. I've gone back and just read the poems MANY times. It's a beautiful story with quirky characters, and I just LOVE it.
- Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake- Wow. Just . . . wow. Scary, beautiful writing, description like I hope to one day be able to do.
- The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin. I finished the book days ago and it's still blowing my mind.
- I'll read and love anything by Sarah Ockler.
- Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi- Not only did I love the language (and it's not at all how I write) but I loved that I never knew what would happen next . . .
SO! I have a million more books that I could put on this
list, but these I'd recommend to just about anyone.
